I don't know what kind of crazy, ritzy dim sum places you eat at, but at my local joints I can feed 4 people to the brink of puking on $40.

JEKKI wrote:lol and speaking of money, it seems every nay-sayer to 5 Guys always has to do with its price! It's never about the taste, but the price despite every other burger worth eating in california costs much more than 5 Guys.
Uh, no. Maybe if we're talking restaurant/gourmet-burgers, yeah. But those burgers are all better than 5 Guys. I'm talking about fast food. $6 for just a regular fast food burger (no cheese or bacon or nothing) is expensive. Want fries or a drink with that? There's no real way to get a combo and save some money. And as good as their fries are, they aren't as good as In-n-Outs, and they cost twice as much. Why would I go to 5 Guys, when I can spend less money at this bitchin mom & pop burger shop and get a fancy artisan burger plus way better fries for less money? Or, get twice the amount of food that's just as good if not better from a place like In-n-Out?

I'd agree with you, but I know for me personally we don't have In-N-Out here and very often it feels like the Midwest is the land of chain restaurants and among those available Five Guys is the best among them (IMO). Anytime I go to a sit down restaurant and get a burger I invariably get something that is overcooked and not nearly as good as I can make at home. The In-N-Out that I went to in Dallas was very good and after I ate the fries fresh (as opposed to getting it to go and taking it back to the hotel) the fries there were better than any fast food chain that I've ever had. I can't stand the fries at Five Guys.

We went over into Louisville and tried a new pizza joint Clifton Pizza (in the Clifton neighborhood). It was pretty good.

Are those veggies hidden *under* the cheese??? I don't like stealth-veggies!!! My brain sees just-cheese, gets excited, and then gets horribly let down when the taste of veggies hits my mouth.

Stuff I ate in Seattle:

Pizza at The Rock - it had some sort of ranch cream stuff on it...it was good:

In my opinion the best place for breakfast in downtown Seattle is Sweet Iron Waffles (lemon curd with blueberries):

Apple Fritter French Toast at the hotel (Fairmont Olympic):

Jen and I went to Five Guys (Burgers and Fries) which opened up last week and boy oh boy, they have gooood burgers. I was surprised at how fresh and delicious and non-greasy it was, which was not at all what I was expecting. Fries were great too. It was crazy to me though how it took like, 9 people to assemble our burgers, it was a complete madhouse there. Though I'll chalk that up to it having just opened and the staff have no idea how to cope with how popular that place is yet.

Holy fuck those new mango Girl Scout cookies are WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIRD! Pretty good though. I'm not sure I've ever had an actual mango but they definitely taste like the fake mango you get out of a candy like a Starburst or whatever. Feels weird to have that flavor come out of a cookie tho.

The pulled pork nachos exceeded expectations by a considerable margin. Glad I splurged on quality tortilla chips.

I made too much and then finished them anyways. It feels like I'm having a baby. A really pissed off baby that is trying to punch his way out of my abdomen.

Due to the shoddy structural integrity of these off brand tortillas I bought, I'm eating a burrito at the moment and one of its ingredients is a burrito.

I finally got around to trying to Lay's Chicken and Waffle chips. I will not be eating any more Lay's Chicken and Waffle chips.

The Cheesy Garlic Bread ones aren't that bad. The flavor might be a little too accurate. They just make me want to eat actual cheesy garlic bread instead of satiating my jones for some like they should.

Still hoping to get a bag of the Sriracha ones. I have a feeling I'm going to like those the most.

I just made THE worst omelet. Even had I set out to make just "scrambled eggs" the result would have been questionable. Seriously, it looked like a flan from Final Fantasy.
