Kevin! You got cucked! That's a Chinese knockoff!

Note the lack of any Bandai branding, the lack of the words "Gundam" anywhere on the box, how the Master Grade logo is all wrong, how the box just doesn't in general look like a Gunpla kit, how it's branded by a company called "Dragon Momoko"

Spoiler: show
On the real though, this probably isn't a mistake on your part. Bandai made a Tallgeese III MG kit, but it was apparently P-Bandai only, so if you wanted to buy that you'd be looking to shell out ~$150.

From reviews I've read online, the kit is generally decent quality; maybe a little under Bandai manufacturing standards, but it should snapfit ok. And again, your option was to pay through the nose if the III is the kit you really wanted. And it looks good too.

So don't feel bad! It's just a little funny.

The only thing I'd say is, when you're doing assembly, if you're doing a bunch of filing and nub-grinding, you should probably use a mask; I don't know what kind of plastic this kit uses and it's best to be on the safe side and not inhale a bunch of gundam-dust. Especially if it's resin, because that's inviting the specter of cancer.

Edit: Also, the MG Recten that you preordered looks pretty fuckin' good:
http://hobbynotoriko.yumenogotoshi.com/ ... on-ew.html
And that's just snapfit with no panel lines or decals.

I kinda wish I'd preordered one too. >_>;; P-Bandai y u do dis!?!?

Son of a bitch. You know that's off the link you put so I'm going to blame you for this. Hopefully will have sandrock done this weekend and I'll move onto this.

Hot damn that looks good. Love that it won't be getting any decals.

Did I link you that?? I think in hindsight I probably would have linked it anyways because by all accounts it's a good price/quality compromise.

Pretty sure the Alton will have decals, if that's what you're referring to. It's just that that preview didn't put them on so you could see just the snapfit.

I wish you would do decals man. They make a big difference.

Tonight I offered to buy anyone on the Dischord server a gunpla kit for xmas. Nobody took me up on my serious offer except Cross, who wanted me to build it for him too which isn't part of the bargain.

I'd get you the non limited edition version that's $25 cheaper and doesn't come with a bullshit head base.

But you're insulting me by saying I wouldn't play the game I've been begging you for weeks to play because you refuse to plug your ps4 into your monitor or set it up temporarily on the ground.

Probably should do an update.

Finished the Master Gundam a little while back. There are two decals that go on its wing/vernier things that I haven't put on yet because they're very superfluous. Otherwise, it's done and I'm generally happy with how it turned out, even if the plastic cement washing gave mixed results (which you can't tell from a casual glance at it, or even a somewhat detailed look).

Image

Again reitterating that I really really really like how much more sturdier gluing parts together made this kit. Nothing falls off! Well, except for the wing/vernier things on the back that are heavy as fuck and either slip off or make the dude's torso lean backwards. It's a pretty glaring fault for this kit. But yeah, I wish I could go back and redo my other kits with glue now, because it's obnoxious when parts fall off of those. Moving on: Muh ZZ came in the mail!

Image

I'm moving onto doing this one over the Hyaku Shiki and the Zeta because it's an older kit, and therefore should be shittier and not as big of a deal if I screw things up while experimenting with build techniques. And so far, I think that might be a mistake because holy crap this is a complicated as fuck kit. Look how many runners there are!

Image

I counted like 22 different runners! By contrast, my Master Gundam only had like 12, and most of these runners are bigger than those. And this is going to be a BITCH to pose. Look how many fucking polycaps it comes with!

Image

So far I've finished the head. Will post more later, but man this is going to take a while.

Image

ZZ has one of the best mech-heads in all Gundam.

When you finish all the components, I need to see this in all states of transformation.

Also, are you welding the pieces on this one too?

Yeah, have to weld. I'm especially afraid that if I don't on this one, it'll grenade on me. I'm also doing some seam welding and I don't know how I feel about it. The nature of the white plastic on most of this makes sanding relatively easy because you won't see the scuffs as easy. But I've read plenty of people who claim to get the buffing down to perfect, and I want that. So I'll be taking a trip to hobby shops/other places to get some extremely fine grit sandpaper.
