I'm gonna go ahead and forgive you because you're only at the tender age of 15, and weren't even alive for games like FFII and III (4 and 6 respectively).
While I thank you for taking my age into consideration I have played both those games and I find XIII to be faster paced

Did you play the original games on the SNES? Or did you play the PSX/GBA ports, or the DS remakes, all of which have increased load times (and in the case of the DS game, more animations) which in turn make the battles feel slower paced. In the original games, battles should only take like, 5 seconds for most encounters.

Visually it looks so wrong. I think the purge was initiated not because of contact with some evil super being but to eliminate the pedophiles. eeewwwwww
I'm about 5 hours into the 2nd disk and so far my reaction is probably about the same as my reaction to Avatar which is; its irritating fun that looks great and I'm not glancing down at my watch to see how long I've been sitting here (yet).

Pace of combat = overall time of combat; if fights only last a few seconds, the pace of your battle was lightning fast. Now, dungeon exploring probably feels faster, since there aren't random encounters and most dungeons are a straight line until the end... but that's not what AP-Zac said (it might be what he meant, but not what he said).

Worse than Final Fantasy II? Worse than Final Fantasy IV: The After Years? Worse than Final Fantasy Mystic Quest? Worse than Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerebrus? Worse than Final Fantasy Legend?

I read that some of the PS3 trophies unlock new themes and getting the platinum (so getting every trophy) unlocks a Serah one so I might do it to get all the themes.
Although once I get Snow's or Fang's I might just be like alright that's cool.

I'm going after three specific ones on the 360. Microsoft is having a contest in Canada where if you get these three achievements between sometime last week and like.. April 4th you are entered to win a figure of.. Lightning, Snow, and Vanille (one entry for a specific figure for a specific achievement) and if you get all three you're also entered to win a Shivacycle figure.
