Planetside is garbage. Its a desolate, boring game. There's nothing to do in it aside from get shot by other human beings who have been playing longer than you, and have sunk more money into the game than you. You guys wanna start one of those Planetside clans where the leader blasts dubstep over VOIP while we run around capturing vacant bases? Go ahead and play Planetside. I guarantee nobody shows up for week 2. I feel like it's known that I have tried MANY times to get into that game and even have a bunch of its in-game currency still unspent in it but every time I install it I play it for an hour or two and can't fathom how anybody can have fun with it.

There was a point in beta where the game went from meh to great in the span of like a month.

When did they add the instanced story progression quests and the job board? I imagine the game was terrrrrrrible before both of those things got in and I think I heard that they were both pretty recent additions when I started playing.

But Firefall doesn't have any MMO gameplay. It's like Borderlands with jetpacks.

I vote that we stay away from alpha/beta/early release games. That's the reason I never joined a Rust gamenight, I didn't want to play an incomplete game.

Chivalry is still $25 and I'm not sure if Ex wants to host a server.

Again, it sounds like we're kinda all over the place. Instead of picking 1 game, why don't we try a few of these out and see what we like before making a big commitment? We could start with CS:GO this week and then try Firefall next week.

I'm not the most partial to this game, but that's actually a pretty decent suggestion since it's casual and creates some good lulz. Only problem is not everyone has this game though, and it might be hard to convince others to purchase it.

You guys are never going to find "The" game as long as you're playing any game that isn't free to play and casual as fuck. TF2 was kind of perfect. CS:GO is far more hardcore than that*, also it costs money.

*Before ex spouts off about non-competitive gamemodes or whatever, just shut the fuck up and realize that I was speaking of things like the core gameplay. The way you move and the way guns shoot is vastly more "hardcore" than the more casual, goofy gameplay of TF2

Chivalry would probably come the closest to recreating the dumb, casual fun of TF2 but as mentioned, unless it's on Steam sale for $6, it's expensive for what it is. Also it would probably get old pretty fast as it's kind of one note.

I actually didn't get into TF2 until you guys switched to Rust so I'd be game to go back to that again for a while. I also enjoy CS:GO every now and then. GTA sounds like fun but I think cost and hardware requirements would be an issue.

I'm against going back to TF2. The entire reason we switched to Rust was because the TF2 server was dead.

Maybe it's just time to retire Gamenight and just have people join the mumble server instead.

It goes back to me wondering what mr ex and others wants out of game night. Do they want a nice, tidy, "we own a server for this" game that anybody who listens to the Geekbox (in case we can ever manage to get Ryan S. to properly shill it) will be able to jump into at any given Sunday and hang out with us "regulars?" TF2 was the perfect game for this. Free or not at the time, everybody fucking has TF2. If you want this to happen again you need to find the next TF2. A game that everybody has that has a lot of casual appeal.

If you want game night to be something that caters almost exclusively to us that actually still frequent the forum and/or mumble, I think we've got some decent suggestions, but I think the thing that will more than likely work best is a kind of round robin approach that uses all of them would be the best. Put up a monthly calendar with all the shit that will be played so people can buy/download it in time and then just work thru a rotation of all these fun games mentioned that probably don't have the staying power of a TF2 but that would be fun to just jump into for a few hours a week for laughs.

Pretty good edit on this video darfox. You should go back and edit out some of the more boring section or add more mood music. Subtitles were especially nice.

Yeah I cut out a bunch already trying to get the video under 10 minutes(failed cause video is 15). The long parts I kept were when I TP'd(because I as like oh yeah we used to TP in that game) and when I was nervously looking around.

I tried to cut out all the Negative kenZone but he was talking during some of the action spot and I wasn't going to cut them out for his sake. Sorry I know you don't like your voice in these sort of things sometimes but don't be Negative kenZone to begin with and it won't be an issue.

What about G-mod? like that game is 10 dollars and you can do whatever you want, funny as hell when you playing TTT and soem guy right in front of you gets fucking sniped and Prop Hunt where the seekers try to find your brilliant spot while you taunt them
If you find a man naked while playing the guitar badly and singing in the most annoying highest pitch voice in Rust, its probably me.
