Sounds stupid. The X-men's entire schtick is that there's basically a civil war between Xavier's mutants and Magneto's mutants. For this reason, they basically sit out of Marvel's own Civil War only to have their own civil war a few years later?

Convenient that this thread popped up though cause I've been trying to get back into X-comics lately. I read up about House of M and Decimation and all that sounded fun but nothing that I felt compelled to go back and read, but I decided to start reading through the Messiah Complex/War/Second Coming stuff with the goal being to get into current running Uncanny X-men/force.

I kind of know the gist of how Messiah goes down and turns out but it sounds absolutely retarded, so I wanted to check it out for myself. Only read the one shot that started it off so far but I can tell it's gonna be great. :)

Loved X-Men as a kid. This looks pretty interesting to the little kid in me that is going "woah, this was a long time coming!"

You know, I'm pretty sure I've never actually read a crossover like this (Messiah Complex) before. It's pretty damned rad. Love how the story gets passed off to the different X-teams. The major problem is that I don't have a god damned clue who any of the members of X-Factor or the New X-Men are. I've been spending the entire time reading with Wikipedia up trying to figure out who the hell everybody is and their basic back story.

I really enjoyed the First issue. At first I was upset about the price, 5 bucks?!?!?! I felt it was worth it. I enjoyed the chats that Cyclops and Wolverine were having and thought the Villain was interesting and it could go to a dark place when they face him.

Really straining the creative team with the story on this though huh? It's not exactly the most unique situation they've been put in what with the sentinels and all.

This is most definitely not Carlos Pachco's best work.

as a casual fan of the X-men comics(being that i have not read a X-men comic in a few years).... i came into this fresh... I wasn't really lost and it was not hard to pick up what happened(a few minutes with wiki). One thing that i dont quite understand is Magneto i thought he was a Bad Dude, and lost his powers in M Day?. anywho i give this comic a B-(on a scale of A-F)

Rating issues that are part of a bigger story is the equivalent of giving a grade to chapters in a book.

The last issue came out yesterday, and the whole thing boiled down to events causing Cyclops and Wolverine admitting they have different views of how the X-Men should operate, which of course turns into a fight because these characters NEVER got along. At one point Cyclops says "She never loved you, you know. You always scared her."

Anyway the fanboys online should love this, because now it means A) Wolverine is on one fewer X-team, and B) at least the two core X-Men books are going to be self-contained for a while. It always comes down to some grand threat uniting the X-Men at some point, so let's go with it.

If any series needed a complete reboot, it's X-Men. They've pretty much stayed in single continuity since their inception.

The problem with this reboot is that both Wolvie and Cyclops suck. I don't like either of those dudes. Where's my Storm-led X-team?

If you want to write a letter to Marvel asking for an essential X-Treme X-Men, go ahead. They'll probably put it on the wall.

This series is on the 99c Monday sale on Comixology. Would anybody recommend at that price?

It's pretty good but pretty nonessential. Too much artist swapping. Reading this is almost pointless unless you go on to read Wolverine and the X-Men where the young Hellfire club gets more comically fleshed out. They're factoring into a current storyline which is amazing.
