I think Sayid is Jacob, no question.

I don't think Jacob took over Sayid's body and I hope that's not the case. It seems a little too obvious and kind of cheap.

I don't sayid was ever dead, so Jacob could never take his body. Miles knew something was up. His reaction indicated that he couldn't hear dead Sayid. Based on what we learned when Ben was healed, a person forgets everything prior. Sayid had a ton of baggage and now he is washed cleaned. I think there is double meaning when the Other said "your friend is beyond saving". It indicated that the Others thought Sayid's body and "soul" was beyond saving. It ties into a theme of the episode of what controls people. Locke told Bram they were free and Richard that he looked good without those chains. I think he was referring to them being "free" from serving Jacob. Obviously there is Locke manipulating Ben. Sayid was often controlled by his past and now maybe free. It is all variations on different things that influenced or controlled the characters' lives.

When a man stops breathing and his heart stops beating, he is dead. That's the legal/medical definition. You can resuscitate a person, it happens all the time, but people's hearts just don't decide to start beating again for no reason and with no stimuli. I definitely believe he died, but was brought back from the brink of no return by The Island (or whatever). I don't think that he became a host for Jacob though... He looked too shocked/bewildered when he woke up for that to be the case.

You just had to ruin things, didn't you? Only a Laker fan would be so obnoxious and say something so pointless, derogatory, and hypocritical. I mean, you do realize that you have Sasha Vujacic on your team, right? SASHA VUJACIC. LOOK AT HIM. My god. We have a guy named Spencer on our team, and Vujacic manages to make him look like Conan the Barbarian. You know this to be true.

It's not gay if your European. But your right, Sasha is Kobe's bitch. He's always the first one off the bench to congratulate Kobe whenever he does something good.

Oh yeah Sacramento Queens is funny not derogatory. Here's a good rule to follow - if Shaq said it, it's not hateful, just funny.

I don't think there's any way Sayid is Jacob. The fact that he says "what happened" as he was waking up should be enough to confirm this. If it were Jacob, shouldn't he know what happened? I mean, it would have been his plan if he did come back as Sayid. He's probably just saying that because he came back from the dead, or if we really want to go out there, he was in the sideways world when he died then returned to the Island.

That doesn't really make sense either, but this is Lost we're talking about.

Don't tell that to a Kings fan. Shaq's shit-talking is the single largest source of the bitter cross-state rivalry.

But he wasn't dead-dead. I'm definitely of the opinion that Sayid got cleansed to the point where he is now confused about his mates' current state of affairs.

Locke on the other hand, was the most badass I've ever seen him. Sure it wasn't Locke but it is he who was chosen to be this vessel for something special. And the contrasting scenes of him in LAX and us beaing told about his last line before dying from the hands of Ben, "I don't understand this", is an epic show of overcoming the odds. I may be a little off on that quote. I thought it was a very sad thought to die with.

My Geekbox enthusiasm is rejuvenated with the return of LOST!!!! I actually missed out on the second premiere hour Tuesday night! I didn't know there was a second hour until I saw it available online. Watching it commercial-free made me feel better about missing it live.

Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals still hurts... :(

They're definitely building him up to be some kinda Jesus right now. "We're all doomed if Sayid dies"? He just died, had a muddy-baptism, and rose from the grave? I really hope they don't get heavy-handed religious with this.

We don't know that Jacob and Jacob's nemesis can even possess dead bodies, though. Jacob's nemesis simply took the form of Locke's body after his remains were brought back to the island. The only other dead person we've seen come back to life (to my recollection) is Christian and no one's ever seen his body.

Maybe Jacob can possess a dead body, but there's no evidence of that just yet.

Did they ever explain where the polar bear came from, or are we just going to have to accept them retconning that out as a side effect of them not knowing what the fuck they were doing for two and a half seasons?

I believe in one episode it's stated that the Dharma Initiative brought the polar bears (I think they said there were two of them) to the island. Why I have no idea, nor does it explain how one of them got out.

I think they'd have been better off leaving that one alone.

Next episode in season 6 is supposedly Kate centric. Hooray, I guess.

Polar Bears were definitely a Dharma experiment. They'll never explain what the experiment was for, but it's just there.

One of the polar bears ended up in the desert possibly in the same place Ben and Locke appeared when they left the island. This was possibly the result of a Darmha experiment with the Orchid.

The other polar bear could have been let go by the others, after all its easier to let it go than keep feeding it. In my opinion it was 'summoned' to the main island by Walt. Just before the polar bear appears Walt is reading a comic with a polar bear in it. This is similar to a flashback where he's reading a book with birds in it, and the same type of bird hits the window.

haha do we have to start a thread about the nba?!? i just wanted to push some buttons with the shaq quote. no hate though, kings are over achieving and tyreke evans is the truth. trust me, everyone in LA knows how much sasha sucks.

now back to LOST. does anyone think sayid was able to see/experience the LA timeline while being dead on the island timeline for that short bit of time? assuming juliet saying "it worked" was referring to the plane landing in LA in the alternate timeline. but then again we never hear juliet say "it worked," what if miles lied and juliet said something else. so many questions, i hate/love LOST!

There were Mr. Eko's brother Yemi and Ben's daughter Alex.
