I'm pretty sure The Doctor is the anti-Gordon Freeman. You know - he has a personality, talks, and solves problems by doing things other than shooting people in the face. I'm insulted that you would make the analogy.

Whenever he regenerates he gets a different personality. Maybe the reason he won't kill people now is because of what happened in episode 3.

I'm patiently awaiting the final disc of Series 5 now.

So the other day, I'm making some baked potatoes when I notice a mark on one of them. I try to scrape it off only to discover it goes much deeper than I thought. Then I took a picture:

Link, because it's a big picture.

Two mini episodes from the BBC's Comic Relief telethon to help tide you over until April 23 and the new season (in which the first episode is entitled "The Impossible Astronaut"):

Part I: Space

Part II: Time

Better than every episode of TNG I've watched so far.

My mom called me up and asked when the new season starts. She can't wait. That's hilarious to me. Easter feels like forever from now.

Also, I like the interplay between them all in that short. It's a lot more organic than the first season when they were all still (understandably) awkward around each other. I also like how chummy Rory is with the Doctor and how he's being taught how to do shit with the Tardis. Mr_eX: maybe Rory is River Song. :P

Apparently Steven Moffat can cram more into 6min than most shows can do in an entire season.

I'm in love with the man.

Think about it. Who else knows about the Tardis? And is "oh so much more" than just a wife?

So, I'm completely caught up and I have to say I enjoyed Season 5 a lot. Here's some thoughts I had about the season:

- I found myself literally LOLing on several occasions throughout the season.
- Matt Smith's Doctor seems to be a bit more comedic than David Tennant's and I really appreciate that. However, during more dramatic parts, Matt Smith just can't compare to Tennant. As this is Smith's first season as the Doctor, I think he will eventually grow into the character a little more...I didn't really like Tennant during his first season.
- Karen Gillan is incredibly hot and the perfect companion. I thought about adding her to my freebie list, but decided I would marry her instead...and having my wife on my freebie list would kinda defeat the purpose of list. 8-)
- I'm not a big fan of Rory. He seems to be a slightly more comedic version of the original Mickey and I wasn't a big fan of Mickey. Although, I have to say that the Doctor and Rory have had several funny moments throughout the season. Who knows? Maybe I'll grow to like his character, but right now I'm a little skeptical.
- River Song is the new Captain Jack Harkness. She is an interesting character and I definitely want to learn more about her relationship to the Doctor. Hopefully the young River Song will be introduced this coming season.
- Finally, I want to see more of Jenny!
