Moviebox 10/9-10/16 FUBAR

Postby lemon-fresh » Oct 6th, 2010 @ 1:48pm

Mocumentary of two washed up Canadian head bangers, it's pretty raw. Good luck and just give'r!

I'm also sure the film makers wouldn't care if the movie was acquired through "other" means. It's all about exposure at this point.

By picking any other movie ever made. There are some advantages by setting the bar as low as it can go.

If your next movie is worse than your last one I think you should be banned from the forums.

Haha, I just read through the entirety of my Immortel thread and it was so fucking hysterical. I really do still think the movie was totally watchable and funny, but I did kind of unintentionally troll moviebox.

Also, Higgins if you read this, I'd like to request that that thread be locked. Not that I think anybody is going to do any posting in it, but because I think that Pip Boy picture I posted as the final post is like the most fitting final post in any thread I've ever participated in.

Pro tip: This movie gets exponentially better the more "old style" pilsner (or appropriate substitute) you shotgun prior (during) to viewing.

This is a pretty good argument towards restricting Canadians' ability to create.

I made it! Lord help me, I made it! Now I'm gonna go lay in a fetal position for an hour recovering from the 3 Chicken in a Biskits I tried to eat during the screening.

It was just really poorly executed. The leads were way too over the top and there was almost no humor in the entire script aside from just the obvious absurdity of how awful the leads were. Otherwise it was just a bunch of fake destruction of property and nut jokes.

No fart jokes? What sort of Canadian production is this? Terrance and Phillip would not approve.

I'm sorry, there were definitely fart jokes as well. The movie was just dominated by a real bummer of a testicular cancer plotline that overshadowed almost everything else, including the one "memorable" scene where one of the guys farted and got ejected out of his companions vehicle as a result.

What's to relate to? It's like a poorly conceived Beavis and Butthead live action. You're not supposed to relate to those characters, you're supposed to laugh at them and they weren't funny.

Yea, that's the difference... I've known people like that and have shared plenty of similar experiences. So for me it was a surprisingly real portrayal of those type(s) of characters. I think these boards may actually be too nerdy for this movie lol!

It's white trash suburbia at it's finest and most raw. Including awkward pauses and shitty situations.

Dude, I grew up in white trash suburbia. I even sat at the lunch table with the metal heads and rejects. That was not a realistic portrayal.

You talkin bout highschool? Cause this takes place after those ppl become washed up nobodies...

Fuuuuuck this would be wayyy more fun if more people would join in on the discussion. Thanks for at least giving the movie a watch liquid. ;)

Is moviebox losing momentum or something?

There's always a good handful that doesn't watch the flick. You gotta cut people slack for passing on this one too since it's both obscure and Canadian.

I liked it. I'm not doing the Moviebox thing but I did watch it recently cos of the other thread. I enjoyed the rampant alcoholism throughout, made me want to try their way of drinking cans. I've been sharing it with some friends and they all liked the movie too, though the sequel seems a fair bit more fun from the trailer.

You were a good man to suggest this movie. I like the moviebox thing cos it shows obscure movies. If I joined it I'd recommend like... Predators and Grown Ups.
