Best movie and TV show villains

Postby Mr_eX » Apr 13th, 2009 @ 3:11pm

Ben - Lost(although I'm not 100% convinced he's a bad guy, might be the best character of all time)
Angelus - Buffy
Darth Vador - Star Wars
Agent Smith - The Matrix
Queen Bavmorda - Willow

Spike was a better villain than Angel in my boook. Also, another villain to add to the list: The Cigarette Smoking Man from X-Files.

Best Movie villain is White Goodman from Dodgeball, best Ben Stiller role ever.

TV: Azazel, the Yellow Eyed demon from Supernatural. More people need to watch that show, it's awesome.

Film - Darth Vader from Star Wars; While the new ones try their best to make him a tragic hero you sympathize with, he's been an icon of evil for like 30 years.

TV - Alcohol from Rescue Me; Not a person, but a substance that returns once in while to tear down the progress the protagonist has made in every way. That's the role of a true villain. Any time he tries to go sober, but hits the bottle, you just have a classic "NOOOOOO" moment.

The Assassin from Serenity
Scorpius from Farscape
The Ori from Stargate SG-1. (well more specifically the followers, they were always scarier than the Ori themselves.)

Spike was a better villain, but Angelus was all that made season 4 of Angel watchable. Cordelia should go on the list of worst villains.

I really liked Wolfram and Hart as a ominous power in the last season of Angel.

I'm sorry, how has no one mentioned this name yet?

Image

Let's look at the facts:

1) He transforms into a gun. But not just any gun. A Walther P38, the service pistol of the Nazis during World War II, the most evil gun of all time.

2) He killed the greatest Autobot leader of all time, Optimus Prime, using Hot Rod as a shield and sending millions of children in the 80s into therapy.

3) He killed his first lieutenant, Starscream, without a second thought after being reformatted into Galvatron. That's cold.

4) Not to put too fine a point on it, but hello, he tranforms into a gun!

Angelica from Rugrats. Watched that show religiously as a kid.

Religion, from Religulous.

Hmm, this is fun. I'll try to think of more.

Because they didn't want kids getting shot by police for playing with the original gun Megatron. The gun version was also pretty easy to break. Chest piece would snap off, which also happened to be the barrel of the gun.

Ha ha, now I feel old.

Yes, the original 1984 Megatron did indeed transform into a Walther P38. It was only after a series of violent crimes involving handguns, including the near assassination of then-president Ronald Reagan, that the US government decided that it wasn't a good idea to give little kids guns as toys that looked realistic and could be mistaken for real guns and get them killed by police.

So while every other Transformer from the 1984 was re-released in horrible neon colors for the Generation 2 toyline, Megatron, thanks to a comic crossover with G.I. Joe, was instead reformatted into a M1 Abrams tank, which, by my recollection, was pretty cool, except the fact he was in camouflage green and purple. I mean, do you really expect to hide a tank in the middle of a city?

So that's why all toy guns today have orange-tipped barrels, crazy neon paint schemes, or both.

Thanks for making me feel old!

Funny. BTW, if you spell that word wrong the computer will never figure out what the f*ck your trying to say. Last week I was trying to tweet about Noah Baumbach's 'Kicking and Screaming' and spelt it with a 'o' and knew it was wrong, but the computer failed me. Reverse dictionary didn't even help.

I've got a bunch, but for now I'll just say:

Are there any movie or TV show villains that top The Nazis? I mean seriously, those guys are everywhere, and it's so easy to hate them! Maybe only The Soviets are on equal terms in how scary and prolific these enemies are.
