Trying to redeem Captain Cold after what happened last season just makes Barry look super dumb.

If you want to rationalize it in a certain way, he could freeze laser beams. It doesn't mean that they would stop shooting out lasers if the ice was broken though. Remember, his cold gun brings things to absolute zero. Not even light would move.

Do you know how ridiculous it is to say it's absolute zero?

His is literally described as the Master of Absolute Zero. He also goes out of his way to make sure it is called a cold gun, not a freeze gun, for this very reason.

Edit:
Do you know how ridiculous it is that this guy runs faster than bullets and has the reactions to catch them out of mid air.

Absolute Zero is beyond impossible dude. It's the removal of all energy from a system. And since matter is energy, you're never going to be able to remove all energy. Even if you did for a fraction of a second, energy from outside the system you set up would come rushing in immediately. It's just dumb beyond the normal comic booky stuff. It's like the world being flat, and then say "meh, comic books."

Why does that matter? Does Earth-1 need to follow our physics if Bizzaro world doesn't? Remember, Earth-1 and Earth-Prime are not the same.
Also, the vacuum you are describing is only theoretical, as we don't know what absolute zero would do.

Love Captain Cold episodes because the actor is so good. Even the actress who plays his sister is miles above the usual CW rejects like Huntress from Arrow.

The redemption thing is kinda corny but they probably want to setup for Legends of Tomorrow.

I don't know why you're jumping through hoops to defend bad, lazy writing when the show itself apparently doesn't give two fucks about how stupid it is. This isn't theoretical stuff btw cross. This is middle school level science. Electromagnetic radiation doesn't work like that. The laws of thermodynamics don't work like that. There's a bare minimum of hand waving that Flash could be doing to alleviate these issues and it just doesn't care to put in that tiny ounce of effort to do so.

The Captain Cold actor is awful. Are we talking relative to the rest of the actors on CW? I guess he's upper echelon in that regard, but not by much.

So you are saying we have achieved Absolute Zero and seen it's effects in real life? Must have missed that development.

You're either being a troll or you have less of an idea of how science works than the Flash writers do, Cross

What is E=MC^2?

What is the Laws of Thermodynamics?

So what happens with objects going light speed? Or going through a black hole?

Science in theory versus science in practice. Who says physics and the world as we know it behave the same in any of these extreme conditions.

New episode was still good but team flash is starting to feel a little bloated. Maybe they'll kill off Patty soon so Barry can get back to some jungle fever.

I watched the Trickster episode from the first season. That was actually GOAT-tier dumb. I actually almost died a little.

This show is still cheesy as shit but it really has gotten a lot better since the first half dozen or so episodes unlike Arrow which started to tread water with another "police know who arrow is" storyline and more boring Asia flashbacks.
