I'm absolutely floored by the reaction to this trailer. Like, if this was Marvel rebranded, all you dopeheads would be pre-ordering movie tickets for opening day right now. I've literally seen it happen over and over again. Literally nothing in this trailer was a spoiler either. I can't understand any of this.

I'm wracking my brain trying to think of a single superhero movie that has ever come out where you DID NOT know who the villain was prior to its release. Someone who is buttmad about the Doomsday reveal please help me out here.

I just thought it was funny the amount of stuff they showed - you're right tho, Marvel does the exact same thing -- but no one says anything!
If it's better than Man of Steel, Rodney and I might see it -- or actually, we might see it during those cheapo afternoon shows like we did with Spectre.

And hey, there was one thing the trailer didn't spoil:
Spoiler: show
Aquaman!

It's not just that they put Doomsday in the trailer, or showed Wonder Woman's save-the-day moment; that's not the important part. The trailer feels like it goes through the major story beats of the film in sequential order over the course of the trailer. I mean, it's the epitome of the old-style trailers put together by the film's advertising team that try to explain more than they should about the plot. The last few trailers were just a jumble of cool scenes out of order but here we see the films' three acts: Clark and Bruce's motivations for punching eachother, Act II's creation of a new big bad and Act III's Justice League unite etc. I'm sure the film will be cool and have some surprises but it's hard to not acknowledge the trailer as spelling out the movie in a way that they really didn't need to. I'm of the opinion that trailers should be more mysterious and I honestly went from being curious about this movie and seeing it at release to reserving it for the cheap theatre a few weeks later because I feel like I already got the gist of the film. I think it looks like a fun movie though, they basically reversed the super-serious, grimdark tone that the earlier trailers set in a good way, so the trailer has that going for it.

Have you never seen a superhero movie before? I could have told you those exact 3 beats before I watched this trailer. This shit is not rocket science. All of these movies have the exact same fucking plot. Complaining about spoilers in the trailer for a superhero movie is the most asinine shit #spoilerculture has ever achieved.

It just seems to me that after a decade of literally watching 3-4 of the exact same superhero movie every single year you still think you're capable of being surprised by them. Not only that, but the plot of this movie is literally a fucking trope that has existence since the dawn of comic books. I don't understand how it's possible to see what was presented in this trailer and think anything here is a spoiler. Did you really think the climax of this movie was going to be a fight to the death between Superman and Batman? It's your childlike sense of wonder and naivete that makes us love you, Rodney, but fucking seriously...

It doesn't matter what I thought was going to happen, but now I know what's going to happen. I went into Avengers not really knowing how it would all shake down, and walked out having a great time. The difference is I'll be walking into this movie knowing kinda the movie plot already. It's the difference between the first Avengers film and the Age of Ultron trailers. There was a lot more mystery to the former. That's all I'm saying. Again, I'm the only one thinking this about that specific Batman v Superman trailer today so take it with a grain of salt.

The "spoiler" of Doomsday/Bizarro is just stupid. Like LiQuid/Kenzo said, it's not a spoiler that there's a villain. I'll also take a guess that Batman, Superman, and WW team up to stop him. Now, if they want to toss Darkseid in after the credits, and they put that in the trailer? Sure, I'd say they're revealing a surprise. But nothing about this screamed spoiler.

That said, I'm really not going to watch anything else because I want as much of the movie fresh as I possibly can.

I'm sure Eisenberg will be just fine and someone brought up the fact that the "businessman" incarnation of Luthor in the comics isn't that old, but can't they make just one Superman movie where Lex Luthor is more like this guy:

It's apparently been confirmed that The Flash will make a cameo in this movie. Didn't say if it'll be as Barry Allen or as The Flash, but the actor (Ezra Miller) will be show up somewhere.
