Was anyone else disappointed to hear that MM10 was balls-bustingly difficult? I made it to the Wily levels in 9, and even that was way harder than the old games, so I'm probably not going to buy it now if it's significantly harder than the last game that was significantly harder than the previous games.

I haven't heard anybody call it unfair. So I'm pretty certain that I'll eventually get to the end. Megaman is all about muscle memory. It's not like you have to memorize where the enemies come from, since mostly every thing in the game moves slowly. It's more like you have to remember how hard you have to press the jump button to cross this gap without hitting the spiked roof. As long as your patient you can beat a Megaman game.
I stream games some times. Come and watch www.twitch.tv/darfox8 These are my Highlights.

I heart mega man 9, it's the only MM game i've played, but i loved every second of it.

I missed having Karen on the show.
But it was another great episode.
You guys need to have this out like 3-4pm eastern time zone.
So I have time to listen to this before Lost

"Ow-wiss" as Tina says, was great on the show. I remember the first time or two I heard her on a 1up podcast and she was so timid. But now she is great and asserts herself wonderfully! Great Job Alice!! Yet another Geekbox Girl for me to crush on! :P

I'm going to just come out and say it: Mega Man 9 and 10 are way, way, WAY harder than the old school 8-bit NES games ever were.

I replayed 1, 2, and 3 recently, and even without using any sort of cheat device (Game Genie, Game Shark, etc.), I managed to beat them in a reasonable amount of time. It was challenging, but fair overall.

Replaying 9 and trying 10, these new games are a stiletto heel to your nads in comparison.

I didn't realize there was a ban on wrestling talk. I'd love to hear you guys talk some wrestling on the podcast. Whenever you've done it in the past it's always been pretty short and has never taken over the rest of the podcast. So I say why not? In fact, just to support it, I think I'm going to go out and get myself a wrestling picture for my avatar. :P

I think the flirtation thing Gilroy said to Michael that they were trying to remember on the podcast was when Michael says something like, "I scratch your back, you scratch mine." Gilroy responds, "If you wanted someone to scratch your back, all you had to do was ask."

As soon as he said that I started cracking up and wondered if this would further the Gilroy/Michael romantic sub-plot talk on the Geekbox.

Almost caught up! Quick thoughts:

-Alice is an acceptable stand-in for Karen. What she loses in added annoying (nothing personal, your voice is a little too high pitch for radio) she makes up for with added nerd-cred.
-If wrestling-talk is banned on the Geekbox, then so is interracial-dating-talk. In all seriousness, every time someone talks about their fascination with dating (or other people dating) people with different ethnic backgrounds, god kills five kittens.
-I'm surprised with all the Jack-hate. It's about time he flips out and breaks shit. I would have said long ago, "this island is bullshit!" and tried to kill as many people as possible.

Less wrath, more appeal to people's rationality and sensibility. Will I boycott the podcast? Probably not. Will I groan with hatred, stop listening for a while, and bitch about the stupid choice of conversation topics on the forums? Most definitely.

I don't get it... We're not supposed to talk about mating preference? You do know that appearance and background can play a big part in this.

Remember how talking about racism was banned on the podcast? This is the same thing. I don't want to hear about how you find Asian girls more 'fascinating' than other 'types' of girls, or your own reflective musings about how you probably date white guys to rebel against your own culture. That shit is boring, I've heard it a million times. I'm rather sick of hearing people drone on over and over about their immature and naive fascination with the 'exotic', I loathe the hasty generalizations they make about entire groups of people after their experience dating only a handful of them, and I'm downright creeped out by folk who fetishize entire ethnic groups. Can people have intelligent conversations about interracial dating and offer valuable insight? Sure - but that's almost never the case. As far as I'm concerned, it's best to ban it all.

Besides, your 'mating preferences' should almost never be limited to only certain groups, especially when that group is defined by an ethnic identity. People are more than the sum of their biological makeup/cultural background and shouldn't be unilaterally defined by their 'race' or ethnicity.
