Want to design a Geekbox t-shirt?

Postby Rydog » Jul 8th, 2010 @ 12:08pm

Greetings, artistic types. Do you like the Geekbox? Do you like t-shirts? Would you like to marry these two likes and help to provide some fashionable apparel for yourself and others like you? Well, have I got a deal for you.

If you're not getting the gist of it, I'm looking for someone to design us a cool t-shirt. The winner will get... something. Something cool. And some free t-shirts. Here are the guidelines:

- The shirt should encapsulate the Geekbox's geeky nature. This is open to your artistic vision.
- Design it with either a black or white shirt in mind. I'm flexible. I personally prefer black.
- Feel free to use multiple colors, but create a design that looks good in a single color.
- Make an eye-catching design, without it being TOO in-jokey.
- No profanity, nudity, or anything that would get anybody kicked out of anywhere.
- No copyrighted material.

Feel free to post jpegs of your designs here in the forum, but remember that you'll need to provide a giant, hi-res, Photoshop-format image, too.

GO.

How about a Gabrielle Anwar scale T-Shirt :p

i supposed this could be considered "in-jokey", but you guys talk about it so often, it should be fair game...

caricature's of the people that make up the podcast, albeit overdone and expected, doesn't really qualify as in-jokey. like the gfw brodeo reunion poster, when done well it's a good design.

i guess if you're not catering to the actual podcast component, then what is trying to be accomplished other than fan service? trying to wedge in "geek" concepts could work, but just the name of the podcast sets the mood as it is.

with that said, i'll probably buy whatever gets made :D

Imagine if you will a box wearing glasses and a Star Wars shirt and in one hand it's holding a comic book and in the other a controller. I call this shirt, the geek box.

I don't think you understand the scale try using 3 Gabrielle Anwar's instead. Also if it was a 3 or 2 Gabrielle Anwar shirt I would totally wear it. Assuming shipping to Canada.

i get it. its like golf; the lower the score, the better. i think making it 7/10 makes it an even bigger in-joke. ryan and some of the others have such a charming and hilarious self-depreciating attitude about the podcast (i can't count the number of times ryan has said "this podcast sucks"). i think if you were to ask him, he may give the podcast 7 gabrielle anwars.

i agree, i would definitely give them a 2 (being great), and the art could be updated easily to match that.

I don't think Gabrielle Anwar would take too kindly to her name being used in a reverse scale. I smell a lawsuit.

True that's the first thing he said in the TF2 game night after someone asked everyone that was playing who was from the Geekbox forums. I thought it was pretty funny.

Figure I'd actually get off my lazy ass and make a profile to throw my hat into this. =)

EDIT: I'm at work right now, but later today I'll throw this on some black & white shirts to see how they stand up.
