The special next week better involve some legendary impersonations on your behalf, Mr. Scott! There might even be handsome reward for you, if you do.

Edit: Five peoples is a lot of peoples talking at once; I'm not too upset that Karen isn't on this week.

Burn Notice mythology: Evil Organization frames Michael, Michael gets burned. Michael, stuck in Miami, begins helping people, trying to find out who burned him and why. Lots of people want to kill Michael, Evil Organization keeps them at bay. Evil organization protects Michael from old enemies, wants Michael to work with them. Michael says no. Michael makes contact with the CIA, and his contact is killed. Michael meets Simon, learns how he was burned. Michael agrees to works with Evil Organization, learns of the Bible and how to expose Evil Organization. Michael obtains "the list," is (apparently) brought back into the CIA.

Fitch getting upset that Scott Pilgrim vs. The World didn't feel Canadian enough is hilarious. Oh man, U.S. citizens with stereotypes in their heads are so funny. Now if you excuse me I've gotta go OOT AND A-BOOT to my class. What a fucking joke.

Also if he wants some more Canadian culture beats than maybe he should read the graphic novel where they'll casually reference things [particularly music] that people outside of Canada probably have no idea about. [eg. Gord Downie*] Also some of it he probably didn't realise it was Canadian like how when Scott goes into a coffee shop it's not a Starbucks it's a Second Cup, which is a franchise here [not as well known as Tim Hortons but still Canadian] or some of the locals like Casa Loma.

Also Fitch many movies are filmed in Toronto or Vancouver because it's cheaper than filming somewhere in the U.S. [although not as much anymore now that the dollar is par] and everyone anywhere has an accent, it's just that what you think is a typical Canadian accent probably is not what it really is.

*

Note I realise this is pointless because Fitch doesn't visit the forums.

"A Serbian Film" would break Fitch. Only wikipedia it if you have a strong stomach.

I've never seen it myself, but I'm pretty sure it's the worst thing out there.

The first post wasn't hate I thought it was hilarious that he wanted it to be more Canadian, whatever that is supposed to mean. Really I have no clue seeing as there is many things in that movie that are fairly Canadian and the complaint about accents are just silly, none of them really sounded like American accents besides Ramona and some of her exs, which makes sense since they are supposed to be from the U.S.

Seriously I just watched it again during the break last week with my sister since I got the it on Blu-ray for Christmas. Mind you the references to it being in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and many of the characters being Canadian are not as many as in the books but the references to everything are not as numerous as in the books.

As for the second part, that isn't hate either that is saying dude hasn't played a Kirby game or mistakenly said what he said. I'm happy to see him but I was just pointing out that you can totally die in other Kirby games.

From what I keep hearing from you guys (and from other people) is that you guys think Scott Pilgrim is good but you think the movie is lacking in plot. So have any of you guys read the comic book? Because there is a lot of good story that was cut out in the movie (which is understandable for the ending since the last book was written during the movie's production). I know I wrote a freaking essay about things that where changed the last time Scott Pilgrim was brought up. I don't mean to sound like some bitchy "the original book was better" purist but it's just that whenever I listen to a group of people who never read the comic talk about the movie it always sounds like a bunch of Ryan Higginses talk about Harry Potter.

It's funny how when Ryan Scott mentions Saw I think of Linda getting tossed into a pit of syringes as he's saying it.

So does that mean when I'm watching a film that is set in the U.S. there should be guns and hamburgers everywhere?

That's not a Canadian movie, it's a collection of tired stereotypes that ignorant U.S. citizens believe to be integral to Canada.

These are Canadian movies

So are many many other U.S. movies because it is [well not as much due to the dollar being par] cheaper to film it in Canada than the U.S.

It doesn't mean it's Canadian just like how even though say American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile was filmed in different parts of Toronto along with McMaster University in Hamilton that does not make it a Canadian film.
