Bed intruders? Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney? No mentioning of WoW? Sounds like a FANTASTIC episode!

-1 for League of Legends mention. But yes defiantly off to a good start.

.....Karen just lost me by talking about WoW. -1. This episode definitely wont win the Geekboxie next year for "Best Geekbox Award Show of the Year".

I love you guys, I really do, but Daniel Tosh is an amazing comedian and fantastic television personality. The commentary on Tosh.0 is completely factiousness and snarky. He's not racist, xenophobic, or sexist, or whatever. His on-screen persona is meant to parody the average Youtube commenter.

Other than that, not a bad first-showing for the Geekboxies. Good call on Red Dead Redemption. Mass Effect 2 is absolutely deserving of all the game of the year awards it's been granted, but no game last year affected me more than Red Dead Redemption.

Having not yet listented to the podcast, and watching only small amounts of Tosh.0, I still canm't help myself from asking:

If he's just doing an impersonation of Youtube idiot commenters, why not just go to Youtube and read the idiot commenters?

The 5th season of Supernatural was amazing and better than Lost.

Real quick: Up *was* nominated for Best Picture last year (the first year 10 films were nominated in the category), and it won for Best Animated Feature. Toy Story 3 will probably follow the same pattern.

I would say the worst geeks of the year award should be everyone on the podcast. From what I can tell they don't play any games, watch any TV shows, read any comics and they all appear to be afraid of new technology. I not only disagreed with most of the awards but also the nominations.

I listen to the podcast because I like it. Why else would I?

I know they have jobs and considering what their jobs are and the fact that they do a weekly podcast called The Geekbox, it's suprising they don't play, read, or watch anything. What do the forums have to do with anything?

First: Thanks indieinsd!
Second: Supernatural is so goddamned good.
Third: Mr_Ex, are you actually trolling, or fun-trolling? I'd like to know before I dive in whether to wear the hip-high waders or the shoulder-length ones.

It really wasn't. That isn't to say I didn't enjoy the game immensely (and was the first GTA game I actually bothered to play to the end). But as for having the most "affecting story" is just hilarious. That's like saying Family Guy has the best animation quality on TV. It was good for what it was, and its twists were novel/fun, but I wasn't really affected by any of that.
Spoiler: show
When John Marston gets mowed down towards the very end, I holstered my gun because I was like, "yup, this guy deserves it."

I agree, unfortunately. Geeks also get really excited about the stuff they do love, and all year I can't really remember them getting excited for anything besides the Lost finale. Master Higgins gets a pass on that part, mostly because his excitement for DCUO is well cataloged here on the forums.

IRL_Troll wrote:Oh, and (they) don't play TF2 with us
I really don't mind this. But I do LOL to myself/feel a little bad every time someone comes onto the server and is like "are the Ryans going to be here tonight?"

Konanda wrote:Man the Weeping Angels are too overpowered now. Also I hear Lost sucks.
I get why people say this, but I have to vehemently disagree. For starts, Doctor Who doesn't seem like the kind of show that is obsessed with canon to begin with. Secondly, they've only ever been in one other episode, so it's not like they're destroying mountains of precedent. Thirdly, in their first appearance they were beaten pretty easily and convincingly (you just have to trick them into looking at each other, which should be really easy), and fourthly, there's no real imminent threat or peril of death from the first one; they wanted to raise the stakes and make those two episodes in season five even more heart-pumping and I think they succeeded for the most part; plus the way they dispatched them at the end was far more clever.
