The Comedy Button: Episode 8

Postby Rydog » Dec 2nd, 2011 @ 4:16pm

Going forward (and as per my castmates' wishes), I want to experiment with just having one big thread for all Comedy Button discussion; I'll eventually merge the existing episode-specific threads into this one. Now go listen to The Comedy Button #8 and come back here to tell me how horrible I am!

EDIT: Taking some of the comments under advisement and re-thinking my decision to create a mega-thread. You're totally right, guys.

Your castmates shouldn't get any say in this matter, since they never actually make use of the forums what so ever.

Also, I'll tell you how this experiment will end: with a thread that looks a lot like the previous Debriefings mega-thread.

Yep. All it's going to take is one big, stupid, insult-filled tangent and the thread is going to be ruined forever. Even if there hasn't been a ton of discussion about the individual episodes, I don't see any reason to consolidate them. What was the reasoning behind the castmates even deciding that?

Probably a misguided attempt to discourage Ryan from taking show notes.

I know. We didn't realize it until after. We're (hopefully) going to fix it tonight before we record the Home Alone 2 commentary.

Yup Home Alone 2. The last 45 minutes of that movie are practically a snuff film.

I'm surprised that Masters of the Universe wasn't picked. Maybe in the future...

TMNT2? Home Alone 2? This dredging of my adolescent years needs to continue! Here's a few freebies that fit the theme:

-Adams Family 2
-Bill & Ted 2
-Wayne's World 2
-Escape from LA
-Highlander 2
-Honey We Shrunk Ourselves
-Land Before Time 2
-Mortal Kombat 2
-Speed 2

And these aren't really hilariously bad sequels to anything, but they deserve honorable mentions:
-Spice World
-Tank Girl

We've already recorded the Masters of the Universe commentary. We did it right after we finished the first or second episode.

I haven't seen MotU since I was a kid. Pretty bad when a movie is so bad that young me couldn't like it in spite of the badness. Can't wait to watch it again though.

Oh god their self worth has hit a all time low after last week's depressing discussion. They don't even believe they are worth a weekly thread anymore...

Anyway loving the show so far. Whats this about movie commentary? Is it something they did on the debriefings?

It's been so long since I've seen it that I forget most of what happens. I just remember Dolf Lundgren, Skeletor and a dwarf rocking out on the weirdest instrument I've ever seen.

I'm hoping that they continue with the more obscure terrible movies for future commentaries, like Warriors of Virtue. It's like TMNT, but with ninja kangaroos.

Good episode this week. Maybe because Max wasn't there. Not that he isn't funny, but too much cross talk with five guys.

It's fun to listen to Arthur get offended by everything... I don't think he could make it through an episode of the Comedy Button.
