The Comedy Button: Episode 9

Postby Rydog » Dec 9th, 2011 @ 4:15pm

This week's episode of the Comedy Button sees the return of Max Scoville and the discussion of some really awkward bangout situations.

If he can't be bothered to do something that simple and is not an inconvenience, you really think that he'll go out of his way to check a P.O. Box with any real frequency?

Seeing as how he's at Comic Conspiracy every week, it's not really an inconvenience. I sent the package there, because that's the address they designated.

And Scott Bromley was bitching on fb about how Ryan gave him a letter a month after it arrived. He's the one who wants the P.O. BOX.

I gave it to him. He left the package here.

That's my point - it shouldn't be an inconvenience, yet he still can't get his shit together to deal with it. Telling him to actually go out of his way to a Post Office is probably a lot like trying to teach a cat to shit in a toilet.

Obviously. Honestly, Bromley should open the P.O. Box himself then.

I'm not saying for him to go to it. I'm just asking him or someone to set it up, preferrably near where they record.

He's been pushed to do so because of this.

Totally - it's been over 25 years since that film was shot and released. It's just always weird to see a place you have intimate knowledge of change so much over the course of your own life. Especially when you have the context of being in other places that look and feel like they're comparatively frozen in time. SF post-Loma Prieta is like a completely different place.

Oh snap. We didn't have what Anthony was talking about when I was at UCD, but we had something similar called "Whores and Trannies" or something to that effect. The degradation and degeneration was much more gender-neutral, because while the dudes had to cross-dress, the women had to wear generally the exact same things the men were wearing: underwear, or lingerie, or hooker-outfits. So while you looked and felt like a total tool, who cares because you were drunk and OH SHIT TITS AND ASS HANGING OUT EVERYWHERE WORRRTH IIIIT!

Also, if Max's girlfriend is going to UCSF for dental school, my roommate is probably in her class and hits on her relentlessly.

Does anyone find it ironic that a man with a fake french name and Vietnamese woman are dating? It's like '54 all over again.

Yeah, that was a little creepy. But at least they're self-aware and self-deprecating about it unlike some tools I've met.

That's what allows me to forgive a lot transgressions that they commit (that, repeated r-word usage, etc), instead of trying to justify it, they own up that its wrong or not acceptable and are never apologetic about it. They make no bones about not being above that humor, which, gives license to use it to me

Can there be a segment on The Comedy Button where Max reads video game lore?
