So how was Korea? What did you do? They got landmarks or tourists traps there, or is it all just babes and cabbage?

For a second, i thought there was actually a long discussion going on when i came back. I was both slightly disappointed yet completely unsurprised at what i found.

But in case the conversation isn't dead, it's not like DC is just pumping out the fresh ideas left and right. Don't get me wrong, DC is putting out some fantastic shit but when people say the 90s are back, I don't disagree when they have Rob fucking Liefeld writing AND drawing a book (Marvel is helping too but hey). I like the New 52 though i could do without the inconsistent creative teams, seemingly pointless retcons that rile fans up, and the "darker and edgier" vibe of a bunch of titles/characters (and costumes).

@jinpei Bro you haven't even read Venom, it's fantastic. As are W&TXM, DD, Uncanny X-Force; supposedly, Punisher, Avengers Academy (i've read an issue and it was pretty good), Hulk, Cap & Bucky, Journey into Mystery, and USM are all supposed to be really great too. But I don't know why i bothered, because this will ultimately go nowhere. Though, if you could be less condescending that'd be great thank you.

Fucking comics.

Don''t forget Moon Knight. For some reason I never hear anybody talk about Moon Knight but Bendis/Maleev are both amazing on it. It makes me wonder how everybody can possibly be so sick of Bendis on Avengers, but at the same time really glad I don't read any of that stuff so I don't ever have to know. The only Bendis I read are Moon Knight and Ultimate Spidey and both are great.

I mostly keep up with IGN for comics reviews, and they usually give it good scores (7-ish) but not outstanding. Though, that's my only source, but it looks good so i'll wait for the trade.

I'd be less "condescending" if the subject material was less pandering, thank you very much.

I actually gave up on Venom after six issues. That's a more than fair shot for a one dimensional character like that, even if he is grafted on to Flash Thompson. The potential for great storytelling is there, yet Marvel chooses to squander it for cheap pandering thrills.

I'm just going to come out and say it: I like the new52, but it's more a brilliant marketing scheme to attempt to get readership in an ass-backwards manner. The traditional way is to hook young readers and cultivate their fandom as they grow older. They want the numbers to be bigger now supported by the demographics with high disposable incomes. This is simply DC caving to WB's demands to get their numbers up after losing to Marvel year in and year out.

And as I've stated MULTIPLE TIMES (LiQuid), I am not a DC fanboy. It's not like everything they do is awesome and they can do no wrong. I've repeatedly stated that several of their titles should simply be killed off, like Legion of Super Heroes, because even after the relaunch, THEIR NUMBERS HAVE STAYED EXACTLY THE SAME, meaning that the only people who are buying LoSH are LoSH fans and that's never going to change. If DC's fine with that, then I am too. But they shouldn't expect it to shoot through the roof simply because they're pumping heavy marketing muscle into this relaunch.

You should go back and read Bendis' USM when Peter was still alive. Some of the best Spider-Man stories ever, including Harry Osborne as Hobgoblin!
