Robin Hood on BBC was okay. It was definitely a cheesier take on Robin Hood than most people would have expected what with the over the top performances and bizarre story lines(Middle Eastern assassins who mind control people with acupuncture). But I guess it was a family friendly take on the character and world he lived in so some cheesiness should be expected. And the end to the series was both very good in the touching moment at the end and also had a very Wille E. Coyote style death for all the big bads that just came off as way too convenient. I will say the actress who played maid Marian was very pretty. That is the one thing about the show that really stands out for me. ;)

On the Pink Tail in Final Fantasy IV discussion:

It's completely possible to farm the Pink Tails in certain versions of the game, and the example I'll use is the FFIV DS version. There is an item called the "Alarm" in FFIV DS (and other versions) which will force an enemy encounter. You can purchase these Alarms from a merchant on the Moon (or steal them from certain enemies). Using an Alarm in the Princess Flan (the enemy that drops the Pink Tail) room in the final dungeon will always force an encounter with Princess Flans. So you load up on Alarms, save your game, and fight these Flans over and over again until you get a Pink Tail. I've got five adamant armors (the item you trade for a single pink tail) in the DS version.

The reason why Marvel gets a lot of PR through USA Today is they now have the power of Disney's PR Machine. DC would have the same ability, but Warner Brothers is a fiefdom of competing interests. Oh, and also because nobody knows what a Green Lantern is. :)

My problem with Man with the Iron fists that there was very little rap,hip-hop and rnb in the soundtrack which I was hoping for. Kinda like a real life Samurai Champloo

Agreed. The OST was a let down by RZA standards. Movie was still alright, but it could have been something special!

I'm totally with Adam on that Cracked article. I read it at the time and felt it was way too cynical.

He's not telling us anything we don't already know. Everyone knows that people only care about you as far as what you can do for them.

But that doesn't mean that's the way the world should be, or that we should just accept it and not try and and be better than that ourselves.

Did some research into the stars of the BBC Robin Hood series. Thanks to IMDb.

Richard Armitage (Guy of Gisborne) is now playing Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit trilogy.
Lucy Griffiths (maid Marian) is now starring in True Blood.
Gordon Kennedy (Little John) was in Sherlock.
David Harewood (Friar Tuck) has been on Doctor Who and Homeland.

People should like Adam for who he is. To paraphrase the West Wing "Let Adam be Adam".

Lololololol! Higgins doesn't like the Bill Murray scene in Zombieland, hasn't seen Space Jam, doesn't like rap in his movies with a historical setting (wonder what he would think of Samurai Champloo), likes Kill Bill vol 1 more than vol 2, and a million other opinions that made me laugh out loud/made my head spin.

Also, Adam's lady-friend is a really cool gal.

Also also, nobody is born knowing how to gamble. So if nobody thought you how, I could see you being completely lost in a casino/doing stupid shit like using video game logic (that was actually how a young kenzo was upon a time before I learned how to hussle). Also also also, never step into a casino with more money than you're willing to loose. And never bring credit cards or the like with you when you go as well - straight cash homie.

Normally I would be all Higginsrage about how dumb everything he thinks is but the more stupid shit he says the more I become numb to all the stupid shit he has said in the past. It's getting really easy to just throw an umbrella over all of Higgins' opinions that will mean they are the exact opposite of any I would have.

It really took me out of the movie.

Yes, a 17 year old kid who didn't see a baby movie about basketball and cartoons. Who would have guessed I would have skipped out on that one!

Try again. I'm mostly fine with it, if it's the entire soundtrack, but what I said was that all the rest of the music seemed to be appropriate to the time period, except that. Not consistent with the rest of the soundtrack.

Mostly this is because of the Crazy 88s and Gogo.

To be fair, Space Jam is a terrible movie, but it's still Space Jam. You should watch it. All the incredulity and audible gasping when Ryan said he hadn't seen it made me laugh though. Whenever anybody pulls a "You've never seen x?!" there's usually some quality threshold or it's for a movie so firmly lodged in nerd canon that it's actually kind of unbelievable to have made it to your adult life without having been exposed to it. But no, this time it was for the really bad movie with Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes with the bootleg voice actors...

They go through Hollywood. Why is it weird for them to run across a celebrity there? Space Jam is the Roger Rabbit of the 90s, except worse (acting, animation, writing, creativity), except better (hoops, Jordan, ridiculous). It's totally a cultural touch-stone. At this point, every one of my favorite current basketball players have publicly made Space Jam references at some point because everyone has grown up watching and loving that movie.

Cultural touchstone? Loving Space Jam? These are concepts that don't make any sense to me.

I'm a little disappointed that someone didn't say "That's way too low" for every entry in Ryan's top ten games list. I think you guys missed a few. (I bet you could have ranked Final Fantasy IV higher if you'd tried really hard!)

If you ever do a "Best Of" Geekbox, you clearly need to title it "How Did We Get Here?"

Everyone needs to see Space Jam if for no other reason than to subsequently repress every moment of it.
