Super far behind but catching up.

May 5th episode - I had darfox ask a question about why DC hates kids and makes comics like Future's End. It was partially to get you guys to talk about Future's End, but mostly to poke fun at apparently, there was some online uproar about how Future's End #0 was an inappropriate comic for Free Comic Book Day since it's so violent, and is also centered around a hero from a kid's show (Batman Beyond). People on the internet are stupid.

If I said it before Im gona say it again- Charlie enunciates better than anyone Ive ever heard. I actually nod everytime the dude hits a double 't' or says "teen titans"

About Gotham Academy. Yeah...I said elsewhere that Im sick if reading about rich people in Gotham being awesome. Exactly what is the millionaire population there? And how many werent in the Court of Owls or wearing costumes?
Something I would like to read is something focused on a poor neighbourhood with people trying to get by day to day in the complete madness!

Watched the new X-men the other day and finally went back and listened to your spoiler cast for it. I still contend you guys have horrible taste in comic book movies.

That movie was fun and had some cool action but damn was it all over the place. There are too many parts of this film that make no sense if you try to think about them for more than a few seconds. Outside of a single scene, Jennifer Lawrence was totally wasted. The most thematically important scene for Charles was botched with some hacky writing. I wanted a sequel to X-men First Class, and thanks to Bryan Singer I got a sequel to X-men 2. This movie was enjoyable, but has completely destroyed the excitement First Class gave me for the franchise.

Also, please, none of you ever try to explain theoretical physics ever again.

Not sure how you can lay blame on Omar for appreciating a world class booty when she goes out of her way to show it off in every one of her videos.

Holy shit, I didn't know this was a thing. I would be so juiced for this if Johns was still on GL. And TBH it makes perfect sense to have these two clash. But I don't trust a single fucking person writing a GL book right now to do this story justice. And there are way too many GL crossovers. Like, I don't think there's been two straight months were there wasn't a GL event going on since before The Third Army.

Hipster Babs[/quote]I REALLY am not looking forward to you guys discuss this topic. At least Bryce and Omar aren't there for it though.

I've read some opinions online essentially getting upset at the fact that she looks more like an upbeat and doe-eyed teenager than the hardboiled independent woman that Gail Simone is portraying her as, and I'm just sitting here like, "Did I miss something? She's BatGIRL. She's supposed to be a GIRL." If you want Batgirl to be all womanly, go read BatWOMAN. Or get on the new hotness that is Bluebird (omg, Batman needs to get over Zero Year and move onto Bluebird, because that's the hot shit right there). I'm OK with kinda retconning her character a little, if only because who cares what you do to the N52 at this point, and if you can tell a good story, then fuckin' do it.

I just think the art is fucking awful. It doesn't fit with anything else DC is doing. It's like they're trying to do a kid friendly book like Teen Titans (the one based on the cartoon) but what kids go to comic shops?

I wouldn't say 'kid' friendly, it's clearly trying to hit the teenage girls audience that read manga and shit. But I have no faith that DC can actually reach that audience unless they start a mad marketing blitz for the comic during their shows like Arrow (they won't do this) and make it readily available in places that aren't LCSes (they won't do this).

The biggest barrier to reading comic books is purchasing them. Even if it was advertised and available where a "tumblr-girl" could buy it, stuff still costs money that a lot of people just are not willing to spend, especially if you don't already read comics. I honestly don't know how someone gets into comics without having friends that are into them.

Who knows how any of these new Batumblr books are going to go. I like the look of Batgirl. Will I read it....one issue maybe. If it going to go more cutesy then hell no I won't.

Event fatigue is certainly starting to set in atm.
