No, it's like jumping into Duke Nukem Forever and complaining that it's not Call of Duty. When the thing is legitimately bad, it's okay to complain that it's not like something that isn't bad.

I certainly thought so. 45 minutes in, I almost smashed my headphones against the wall. And I still had half an hour to go before it stopped sucking.

In fact, I'm mad at the Geekbox now for tricking me into giving this show another shot.

Yeah, I thought the stories of the guys that were old enough to see the original trilogy were cool. I'm just barely too young to have experienced it first hand so I liked hearing them reminisce.

An HOUR AND FIFTEEN FUCKING MINUTES before you start talking about TFA on your special TFA podcast? An hour and fifteen minutes asking a dozen different people about their first Star Wars memory as if that's why ANYONE would be listening to this podcast?!

And then later, Higgins is trying to hurry people along with their actual TFA discussion because you're running long? I WONDER FUCKING WHY?!

Good luck guys. Maybe I'll try again in another two years...

Hearing Higgin's thoughts on Attack on Titan, and anime in general, I have to wonder if he knows that shows can be more than people just yelling at each other and stuff blowing up. I figure a lot of people that glommed onto AoT did so not just for the Titan fights, but for the characters and world. Which are usually explored through "slow" periods of the show where characters are just talking.

Have you ever even watched anime? The only good parts are when shit is fighting and/or blowing up. Anime's best attempts at character and world building are puerile at best.

Ghibli isn't anime, dumb ass. They're animated motion pictures created by Japanese people. There's as much difference between a Ghibli movie and Attack on Titan as there is between Mozart and me farting into a microphone.

Trust me, the people that I know that watched Attack on Titan and liked it are not the "character and world" type of people, which is why it surprised me how slow the show is.

I'd have expected you to be a little more genre savvy, Higgins. AoT is a pretty typical shounen show, and it's also adapting an ongoing comic. That combination *always* results in a "slow" show. AoT is even worse than normal, because the source material is monthly, and the source material output is slower and there's also a lot more dialog per page compared to the average manga.

Most shounen I find remarkable and try to get you to jump onto Higgins, are shows that break that mold and have quicker paces. Recent ones like JoJo and Ushio & Tora have taken DECADES of source material and condensed it down into a show the fraction of the size that AoT aspires to be.

If the Mockingbird show gets picked up I'm dropping every single comic book show that I watch even tho I like them all. That'll be too far for a character and actress that don't deserve it.

Catching up on podcast. Does anyone correct Lane on his One Punch Man misinformation? I had to log in to ask this. I almost hit the roof.

He said the writer hired someone who draws like a 5 year old and then when it got some buzz they hired a different artist who draws good. One, the original author and artist of the original One Punch Man, may or may not draw like a 5 year old but he is fantastic. And the original webcomic is fantastic. The pretty looking manga is a complete remake of the original work. Some guy made a comic so good that people loved it despite it's shitty art and it was eventually remade to look pretty. They are both ongoing. The original webcomic has not finished, and the manga updates when it has more material to adapt.
I stream games some times. Come and watch www.twitch.tv/darfox8 These are my Highlights.

Yeah I saw, must be King Higgins' fault, pretty sure he was hosting the pic for me. Since I have no idea how all this works (never got into forums really). He told me I was a idiot and said here copy this and that and your done. I'll get it back eventually Sakuragi is my alter ego really. =)
