Youtube seems to think I want to watch a KMFDM video. I don't want to watch a KMFDM video.

As long as heroclix gets relegated to the end so I can tune out without missing anything else, it's all good.

Great episode, BTW. Omar is hilarious, Brock wasn't a super fanboy, newbies were good w/ conversation, etc. When Higgins was telling his story about Stan Lee signing shit, explaining how he was just scribbling shit like a machine, I expected that story to end with a, "But when he got to Spiderman #1, he stopped and stared at it for a good minute before very carefully and artfully putting pen to cover." But then the story just ended because it sounded like Higgins got distracted.

Kenzo you at least live in the neighborhood. You should go be on a podcast and laugh at them all for being incorrigible nerds.

Why pull a Brian Altano and hypocritically slander other nerds, when they can get the actual Brian Altano to do it?

Edit: Also, if I were ever on, I'd force them to talk about shit like anime, and nobody wants to hear that.

Well, I did suggest another anime/manga episode this week... :o

I heard. I was forcing CrossXhunteR to twitter you some questions about some manga/anime on my behalf, but you weren't reading twitter questions this week. It was if Toby or Omar had read anything about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and if they knew of the FABULOUS anime adaption that's currently airing.

Edit: It would have been a great question too considering the gay themes popping up all over this week's episode.

Marvel Now is producing more quality books than New 52.

Just something I wanted to say.

You're right, but don't expect any of these clowns to admit it.

I'd have to go back to find an exact quote but during one of the two big New 52 extravaganza podcasts Higgins said something to the effect of EVERY New 52 book being good. All 52 of them. I remember thinking it was ludicrous at the time after having read all the number 1's but seeing where most of those books ended up a year+ later it's even more hysterical!

Hawk & Dove #1 invalidates that claim. There was at least 5 books I didn't like at launch and read past the first issue.

The quote might have been something along the lines of "there's something for everyone" or that all of the books at least filled some kind of role that made them worthwhile. At any rate it was a ridiculous claim that you'd never make for Marvel Now.

Out of those 52 books, I'm reading (or plan on reading) these books:

Talon
Animal Man
Swamp Thing
Justice League Dark
Wonder Woman
Superman: Man of Steel by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee

Out of Marvel Now!, I'm reading (or plan on reading) these books:

Indestructible Hulk
Thor
Avengers
New Avengers
Young Avengers
Uncanny Avengers
All New Xmen
Deadpool
FF
Journey Into Mystery
Xmen
Uncanny Xforce

And those are just my Marvel Now titles.

I don't even consider myself a fanboy of either side, since I'm digging what Image and Valiant are putting out a lot more.

And yet you don't read GL, which is all kinds of great, and the continuity is pretty much intact.

Oh, so one book or this one group of books continuity's book is still good?

Tell me about the other 40.

To be fair I'm a GL fan and post-N52 it hasn't really lit the world on fire. Kenzo's just being contrarian. I hear him bitch about that shit all the time.

I also started to read All New Xmen, thinking I would hate it due to the podcast's consistent bad mouthing of Bendis. Yet, that's one of the best books from Marvel Now.

It's sad that their bias invalidates so much of their actually sound advice. Good rule of thumb is if more than 3 people on the podcast agree with something, usually the opposite is true. That's a good way to combat all their groupthink and Cult of Higgins mentality.

Why? I don't shill for the rest of the 52. But GL is the shit. Just giving an example of something that doesn't suck, doesn't completely fuck your vaunted continuity in the ass, and that you don't read because you're grouping it together with a bunch of other junk that doesn't deserve to be grouped together.
