oh yay! Dark Phoenix Saga book club!

lucky me, I picked it up digitally when it was on sale so I finally started reading it and am 2 issues in so far!

and man it'll be a long read lol, those old issues sure do pack in a lot of words.

Also I listened to the Heroclix episode today,

that Majestix place is right by where I live! I had no idea it was like the premier clix spot.

I'm kinda interested in learning and playing but not really... we'll see...

I've never actually been there tho, but it's next door to the place I get my haircut so I'll pop in and say hi tomorrow

I'll tell em Comics Conspiracy sent me

I went to Majestix.

basically I keep a few titles off my pull list so I can have a reason to visit other stores and buy something.

so I went to pick up my superior foes, and the dood working there was straight up stereotypical socially awkward nerdy comic book store kinda guy.

I was like "yeah I heard about u guys on a podcast and wanted to check out the store!" and I swear the guy could not handle a conversation...

but a bunch of nerds were off to the side buying pack after pack of magic cards fishing for rare ones and he was just enamored by what was going on over there.

anywayz, guy was real young too so I doubt he's a manager or anything, just a part time grunt

but regardless I wont ever be going there again lol.

got many more stores and options in the area, with much friendlier and interesting staff working there!

Congrats on the anniversary.

Regarding Loki's staff from The Avengers - there has been speculation that the blue stone in the staff could be the mind gem. Wikipedia describes it as: "Allows the user to greatly strengthen and enhance mental and psionic power and access the thoughts and dreams of other beings. Backed by the Power Gem, the Mind Gem can access all minds in existence simultaneously. When searching for it, the Illuminati apparently discovered that the Mind Gem was the personification of the universal subconscious."

If that is the case, then we have been shown three infinity gems in the cinematic universe.
1. The Tesseract is the space stone(Captain America and Avengers).
2. The Aether is the power stone(Thor 2).
3. Loki's staff gem is the mind stone(Avengers).

That leaves the soul, time, and reality gems to be shown in the next films.

Due to a mistake, a kind of huge #GoT spoiler for this weeks episode wasn't edited out of the Comic Conspiracy ep last night. I'm reuploading the edited version, please don't listen to the one from last night if you don't want to hear the spoiler! It was totally off the cuff and was intended to be cut out, but I missed it. Please check for the fixed file in just a few minutes.

WGN has been around for a long, long time. Back in the 1980s, we used to get it on UHF here in Philadelphia. I remember they used to air the Cubs' day games.

Ever heard of Bozo the clown? He was an old mainstay of WGN.

Good episode.

Congrats on the proposal.

I would watch a reality show with Kevin Smith, going around to comic book stores across America. I only saw part of the first episode of Comic Book Men and parts of other episodes, but it always seemed like a very boiler plate reality show with staged drama scenes and gross elements of shows like Pawn Stars were the cast try to screw someone out of money for memorabilia. If you want to watch a good reality show see Swamp People. Hunting alligators seems like a crazy fun way to make a living.

Higgins have any of you dorks tried Infinite Crisis yet? I bet you would all be terrible at it but you should give it a try. Pass out my referral link:

I'm currently playing a lot of Mecha Superman but he is about to be out of the free rotation so I'm giving Joker a shot.

Higgins - fiancee. Not Girlfriend. hehehe. I bet you are still getting used to the change. ;)

With the Amazing Spider-man movies I would have been fine if they just acted like the Sam Raimi films happened and moved forward. Seems to me with these new movies they are trying to do too many things at once. They don't want to alienate anyone new to the character so they gotta do a back story, but they want to move the series forward so they bring in new villains to the movies that get short changed. And what happened to that big plot thread from the first movie, for that matter, of Peter finding Uncle Ben's killer? They totally forget about that? What a mess.

Gotham trailer was cool, but isn't it early to be judging whether the series will be good or not? I'll give it three or four episodes before passing judgement.

Saying fiance is stupid unless you're French. Girlfriend works until you're actually married.
