So yeah, Fitch is right about the whole "shipper" thing. I have no idea where I got "worshiper" from.

I'm neither defending him or taking you side on this but why bother with that. I guess randomly dissing him is fine because he randomly dissed you but fixing peoples grammar on the net is kinda useless.

Seriously? You joined this forum just to say that? Do you really want this podcast to be a total sausage fest? Maybe Ryan should re-title it the Sausage Box...

Seriously, Karen's a perfect balance for the group and she's as snappy as they come. I say have more cool geek chix like her and Jade on!

Hey jinpei is here. Now lets all argue about Asian films. Naw, I'm just kidding that's an inside joke. Adrockski, stick around and you'll be rolling all over the floor at jokes like that.

Speaking about the podcast it self. I don't like the added death scene in the Watchmen director's cut. It's neat but it didn't have the same effect that the book did. I like the film so it's not like I'm being a purist or anything but the film was a lot less thematically consistent. I already bitched about it in this thread.

RIP Greg. You shouldn't have kept a bronze statue of your golden years, just lying around your living room.

Just read the wiki entry for it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashforward_%28novel%29
Sounds really interesting as a mini-series. I'm skeptical about how long they can drag the quintessential story. But perhaps the series just uses the novel as a base and setting. It definitely has my vote if they can prevent the time/future elements in an interesting way rather than emphasizing that ol' fate-vs.-free-will debate.

Karen, if you need a little extra motivation to stop smoking, just take a look at an x-ray of somebody's lungs who has been smoking for a few decades.

Just try not to smack too many people around in the process of quitting.

From what I understand (and I've not read the book yet), the main difference is that the book flashes the characters 20 some years into the future, while the show flashes a mere 6 months. I'm also a little skeptical about how long the show can hold the premise, but I definitely plan to watch it when it airs (oh, and the other Lost connection in the cast besides Dominic Monaghan is Sonya Walger, aka Penny).

There was a question on the podcast about Dollhouse, and yes, its will still be on Friday nights when it returns.

And I'm pretty sure "Jacket" refers for Jack and Juliet, not Jack and Kate (which I'm fairly certain is "Jate"). I hate myself for knowing this.

If only that kind of stuff helped, people would have stopped decades ago.

I'd also be wary of the drugs that reduce cravings. Some studies have shown that they can cause psychotic episodes. :/

Just finished listening to the show for the second time:

-Master Higgins, what do you think of the Tim Sale font? I'm particularly fond of it.

-Good luck with quitting Chu-Chu. It'll be tough, but as long as you're doing it for you, I'm sure you'll make it.

A little something I learned in my smoking cessation seminars:

1) People only change when it is more painful to stay the way they are than it is to change.

2) Relapse will most likely happen. When it does, however, it's important not to be discouraged. If quitting was as simple as deciding to do so, we'd have a lot more success stories in a short amount of time. It's a process, not a light switch.

Greg will be missed, who now will let everyone else know how boring the WoW talk is?

Karen this should help you quit smoking, my dad got cancer from it. The doctor said he was going to lose his entire jaw but fortunatly it didn't spread as far as they thought and he only lost half his tounge. So every time you get an urge to smoke just picture yourself without a jaw.

Master Higgins why do you watch Smallville instead of the vastly superior show that is Supernatural?

What exactly is your point of view? Did an Asian girl turn you down on WoW?

No he loves his mommy because she thinks he is special.

Shhhh...the uber geeks don't like it when you use wiki to learn something you didn't know. But then again you're an icky girl and they won't like you anyways.

Now on to important things....Fitch, have you seen the Serenity movie yet or what?

Another great show and Greg Ford will be missed. Hope he has great luck in going back to further his education.

I'm also glad to hear things are going well for Fitch. I know there are a lot of Fitch haters, but I have been rooting for him since the Fitch Hitch began. lol

And Karen, congrats on beginning your commitment to quit smoking. I actually quit around September 11th, 2001. I was in the Air Force and out on TDY, in which we became so busy due to the attacks, that by the time everything calmed down for me I realized it had been a week since my last cigarette. So, GOOD LUCK!

Supernatural, when it started, looked really stupid. Just seemed like a WB-teenage X-Files. I've heard more and more that it's a really good show, though. One of these days, I'll have to check it out.

Ive only ever seen an episode or two of supernatural, but it seems interesting, I too will have to look into it....I just need a way to do so. :P anyways *insert traditional sending off* Greg Ford! And also since Kenzo has exposed himself as a slash-fic-fan I think he should have the final say on whether "shiper" is actually based on the word relationship, or worshipper, thought I guess I'm showing a bias by only including one p aren't I?

I would describe it as X-Files meets Buffy but darker than both. If you do start it you should keep in mind that the first season starts out kind of slow and formulaic(about as formulaic as Burn Notice), it starts getting good about half way through the season. The most recent season was better than season 5 of Lost IMO.

Interesting show, and good luck to Greg. I just had a thought--- I wonder if most people who do podcasts regularly listen to their own shows? I know if I was a regular guest I'd listen to try and make improvements.

Looking forward to meeting the crew at PAX :)
