Nickelodeon's TMNT 2012

Postby jinpei05 » Mar 12th, 2011 @ 11:33am

I am troubled. :|

Why are they changing Donatello and Michaelangelo's weapons? What's wrong with a simple bo staff and nunchucks?

My guess is they're changing them merely so that nerds can bitch about it on the internet.

Dude, Donatello's pole weapon is bad ass, it's a bo staff with a blade on it, stop complaining, same for Michaelangelo. They're probably going to only be fighting robots or some shit with all that steel they got, anything else would be too violent for Nick.

I'm troubled that you're troubled over a TMNT 2012 bullshit thing. TMNT hasn't been relevant for 20 years (Secret of the Ooze). It's like people getting frazzled over the new Thundercats. Are people going to get as pissed when they inevitably reboot Power Rangers (the first lot, not the new lot from Sentai Shitcuntenger or whatever), this time not basing the action scenes in downtown Osaka, and making Bulk wear a pig mask, and Zordon is in 3D. Christ.

Do people really hold such values in old ass cartoon shows. Fucking hell. Can't wait for the Spongebob Squarepants reboot.

They could remake Power Rangers into a Journey to the West story, and Bulk becomes Zhu Bajie. Monkey is just one ranger, they call him the Lone Ranger, it's based in the Old West, where the Lone Ranger must travel West with his companions Bulk and Skull, to find the other Rangers. Along the way a woman entices the Lone Ranger, and through a violent coupling she harnesses the power of the lone ranger, but the Green Ranger; a secret sixth ranger, saves the day, but she escapes and becomes Rita Repulsa. Green Ranger is actually Rita Repulsa's son, and he constantly fights his torment inside between choosing sides until they find a cleric (Zordon), in Texas (remember; this is a Western), and he makes the Green Ranger into the White Ranger (Sha Wujing); pure and good, him and the Lone Ranger continue with Bulk & Skull further West until they find the remaining rangers, and with their power combined they can finally defeat Repulsa in Castle Greyskull with the help of He-Man and She-Ra. Boom. It's set in 10,000 BC.

Texas wasn't invented yet in 10,000 B.C. your plot makes no sense.

Texas was recreated, after Atlantis was destroyed, in 9900 BC, Atlantis was where the first Rangers were born, but back then they were mutant turtles. TMNT: Atlantis. Boom.

Most likely, but that doesn't make it cool. I really want an Adult Swim TMNT where people get killed, like the original B&W comics.

I'm not actually troubled, you Aussie degenerate. It's simply the fact that TMNT achieved animation perfection with the 2003-09 series. And if it isn't relevant, then why did Nick pay over a billion dollars to Mirage Studios for the rights?

And not that I give a shit about Power Rangers, but they reboot every time the sentai series in Japan gets a new cast. They've probably rebooted like over 100 times.

I didn't watch Power Rangers growing up since that was after my time and I was already in middle/high school when it blew up, but having recently watched the first couple seasons (there was a ustream or justintv channel that stream it for lulz), that shit is fucking priceless.

Over $1,000,000,000? Really?

http://www.comicsalliance.com/2009/10/22/turtle-power-viacom-buys-tmnt/

Try $60,000,000. Where the hell did you hear a billion?

Also the English Power Rangers hasn't caught up to Super Sentai yet. Samurai is based on the 33rd Super Sentai, which is actually upto the 35th season with Kaizoku, which has a pirate theme!

The Turtles I once loved were the original cartoon turtles. As an adult, however, I realize that the cartoon was crap. I still have a lot of love for the movie, which was far better than it had any right to be. So MY turtles are the Ninja Turtles of the 1990 movie. All this other TMNT shows and movies they've done since, that's some new kids Turtles, and I shan't judge.

Agreed. The movies, well the first two, are what TMNT is supposed to be. It was the reason our mums lined up at 8 in the morning for Toys R Us to open up, just to get that Raphael figure.

Uh, news flash: TMNT is what Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird conceived all the way back in 1984. It was bastardized into a partying, pizza-eating mockery of itself by the early 90's. The 03-09 series was the closest it's come back to the original vision.

You guys are all taking TMNT way too seriously. We're talking about a franchise that gave birth to this:

Anyway, I'll wait until SDCC when Nick will most likely have more footage and info.

Please argue the merits of what's being said, not attacking the character of the person saying things - that's a logical fallacy.

That's irrelevant. You might as well bring up Bram Stoker's Dracula to a Twilight fan. The version of TMNT I still hold dear to my heart the 1990 movie, and I can care less what else happens with the property. Any TMNT stuff they do in the future isn't going to be for me, it's going to be for today's kids that probably have never even seen that movie. . . or in your case, kids that don't even know TMNT started out as some indie B&W comic book.

Who's taking anything seriously? When you're talking about something called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, anything, no matter how serious it may appear, is just BSing.

Y'know, for years I thought the dude who played on the sexed up Law and Order was the same dude that played in the TMNT movie.
